The Role:

The Internal Sales Manager will be responsible for building and leading a successful internal sales team to deliver great customer experience, build relationships with new and existing customers and understand their wider requirements in order to maximise sales growth. You will also be responsible for developing your own client portfolio.

Your main duties include:

  • Drive an effective inside sales team with responsibility for the overall consistent high performance of the team, ensuring they meet their targets and objectives and deliver customer satisfaction
  • Play a vital role in building the sales pipeline for the external sales team by targeting and qualifying new potential commercial clients
  • Generate qualified leads through outbound warm and cold calls within the targeted market
  • Ensure CRM system is maintained up to date to drive pipelines of new business
  • Monitor sales metrics, manage the entire sales administration process and ensure CRM is maintained up-to-date
  • Sell Unsworth’s core services and introduce our Pathway visibility platform to clients
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to generate and nurture a pipeline of qualified sales leads
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with clients
  • Responsible for all internal sales and pricing activities of the import department
  • Ensure all clients are receiving accurate and competitive quotations and ensuring quotes are proactively followed up as per company KPI’s
  • Building, coaching, training and developing your team in order to achieve company targets and goals.
  • Periodically provide reports on the internal sales activities of the company

Experience & qualities required:

  • Minimum 2 years working within an internal sales role within the freight forwarding industry is essential
  • Excellent people management skills and an ability to drive sales results.
  • Target driven with a passion to 'go the extra mile' and a tenacity to ensure that every opportunity is sought
  • Strong systems and CRM skills, ideally Cargowise
  • Enthusiastic with a 'can-do’ attitude, persistence, competitiveness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills

This is a permanent role. It will be based at our Leytonstone office in London with the opportunity for flexibility with our hybrid working model.
