Developing freight forwarders of the future with our apprenticeship scheme

As a family-run business who thrives in our staff development, we are proud to have launched a dynamic apprenticeship scheme that progresses our staff internally and dramatically.

Former apprentice, Kyle Lawrence, has excelled in his career path in a short space of time, going from learning the ropes to taking on our Amazon logistics sector and increasing our client base by over 26% in just four months.

This exceptional drive and ambition led Kyle to being nominated and shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year in last year’s BIFA Awards, and after the apprenticeship was complete, Unsworth were more than pleased to offer Kyle a permanent role as an Import Operator. His passion about using innovative technology to improve the industry aligned perfectly with Unsworth’s objectives.

Kyle is a great example of how freight forwarding apprentices can develop and progress in a vital and growing, internationally-focused industry.

The apprenticeship schemes relies on highly skilled freight forwarders to manage and optimise freight and supply chain operations for clients, offering an opportunity to train new recruits in a way that suits the business and retain expertise.
