What is freight forwarding?

Let's start at the beginning. Freight forwarding is the process of organising and coordinating the shipment of goods from one location to another. It involves managing the logistics of transporting goods by air, sea, or land, and handling all the associated documentation, customs clearance, and insurance.

Freight forwarders act as intermediaries between shippers and carriers, using their expertise to optimise the transportation process and ensure that goods are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. They may also provide additional services such as warehousing, packing, and distribution.

Freight forwarding is a vital component of international trade, enabling businesses to import and export goods across borders and around the world. It requires a deep understanding of global trade regulations and a high level of coordination and communication between all parties involved in the shipment.
