It’s been six months since the EU Exit; however, post-Brexit complexities are still causing many businesses delays and stress.

Some of the major bottlenecks today caused by Brexit include confusion of customs procedures, administrative burden and Veterinary and Sanitary inspections and certification. These issues are continuing to put a huge pressure on supply chains and delivery times, contributing to an already highly strained industry.

One key issue is that there isn’t enough awareness regarding fiscal liabilities. We have been working with French-based tax agents to ensure VAT is handled carefully and effectively, and providing our clients the opportunity to trade frictionlessly – as they once did pre-Brexit.

How? Northern France has become a very attractive country for exporting to the EU, particularly from a fiscal point of view. This route ensures transport efficiency and there is no need for your business to deal with each customs authority in the countries of destination. Unsworth are a recognised partner of Nord France Invest Haute-de-France region for our established solutions.

“Through the Northern Gateway route, we were able to eliminate the lengthy T1 process, saving us vital time and allowing us to focus on what we do, which is buying and selling.”

Charlie Chitty of Dawkins International, a client of Unsworth, share how our methods have been a success for them.

“By passing on our loads to an agent at the border, it became their responsibility for getting trucks through, and we were given the confidence that there were people at the border using a system that worked.”

You can find out more on the Northern France gateway, which allows VAT deferment account on imports, mutual tax reciprocity between France and the UK and lower VAT compliance costs, in our latest webinar. Find it on demand here.

We understand every business case is unique and we are here to ensure you have the necessary knowledge and tools to achieve frictionless trade. Get in touch with our team now.
